What are Movies On Demand?
Movies On Demand are movies you can view at your convenience. Select a movie from the Featured Movies or Now Showing listings, follow the easy ordering instructions and you can begin viewing the movie immediately. If you need to stop the movie for any reason, select the Resume button to continue viewing, or the Start Over button to return to the beginning of the movie.
What is Video On Demand?
Video On Demand will supercharge your DVR, giving you the power to enjoy movies and other programs whenever you want. This new feature will also change the way you interact with your DVR.
I´ve noticed some changes on my Video On Demand screen. Has something changed?
Yes. You´ll notice that your DVR screen has changed. To get started, press the DVR button on your remote. Just press the DVR button again or select My Recordings to view your recorded programs. Select Movies & More to view Movies On Demand. When you´re finished watching TV, turn off your receiver (both TV1 and TV2) to ensure you are always getting the most current DISH On Demand updates.*
* Only available on DISH Player-DVR models 508, 510,DuoDVR™ 522 and DuoDVR™ 625.Turning the receiver off will not affect any DVR timers that have been set.
How do I navigate the new DISH On Demand menu?
The Menu´s are slightly different depending on the model of receiver you have. Please see the screen shots below for the new screens you will see on your receiver.
- When you press the DVR or PVR button on your remote, Screen Shots you will notice a new menu.
- To access your recordings, Screen Shots simply press the DVR or PVR button again or select My Recordings
I just had DISH Network installed and I am unable to rent anything from my Movies On Demand menu screens. Why not?
It will take a minimum of 24 hours for DISH On Demand to appear on screen. To get the most up-to-date movies, be sure to turn off your receiver when it is not in use.
I was watching a movie and it suddenly stopped and the receiver tuned to another channel to begin recording a program. Why?
If you have timers set on your DISH-Player DVRs and two of them are scheduled to record simultaneously, this will interrupt the playback of Movies On Demand. You can elect to cancel one of the timers and return to the movie or watch the movie when one of the timers has finished recording.
How will I be billed for my Movies On Demand rental?
The rental will be applied to your DISH Network bill. The movie may take up to 60 days to appear on your statement depending on your receiver’s reporting cycle.
Can I control who rents Movies On Demand?
Yes. System Locks allow you to control what movies your family can view.
Why do I have to enter a password when I try to rent movies?
The System Locks are on.
How do I set Locks?
Press the Menu button on your remote and select “Locks.” Choose the type of locks that you prefer for your service. Once you have set the locks, return to the Locks menu and select “Lock System” to activate the security on your receiver.
How often will I get new movies?
You will receive new movies as often as each week. To get the most current movies available, be sure to turn your receiver off when it is not in use.
How much time do I have to view a movie I have rented?
Movies are available to view as often as you wish for 24 hours from the time you rent the movie. If you begin a movie that has only one hour of rental time remaining, you will only be able to watch one hour of the movie.
How do I know how much time I have left to watch my movies?
In the Play List and on the Event Info screen, you will see the rental time remaining for movie.
Can I watch a movie again after the rental period has expired?
As long as it appears in the Now Showing menu you will be able to rent the movie again and you will have another 24 hours to view it.
How can I find out what I have rented and can watch today?
Go to the Play List in the Movies On Demand menu to find out what is currently available to view.
How can I see what movies have been rented in the recent past?
To find out what you have rented over the past 30 - 60 days, press the Menu button on your remote, select System Setup and go to Purchase Info.
A movie I wanted to rent is gone - what happened?
Movies can change out at any time. Typically, a few titles will change out each week
If I already rented a movie, do I have to pay to watch it again?
You can watch it as often as you like in the 24 hours after you rent it.
Can I record from Movies On Demand?
These movies are not authorized to be recorded to your hard drive at this time.
Can I keep any of the movies on my hard drive?
These movies are not authorized to be saved at this time.
Can I delete a movie I never want to watch?
Not at this time.
How can I watch movies in Dolby® 5.1 (Dolby Digital)?
We are able to offer some movies with Dolby 5.1. If your audio visual equipment supports and is set up for Dolby Digital, you will be able to hear those movies in 5.1 surround sound.
